The advantages and disadvantages of ever-increasing use of technology
The advantages and disadvantages of ever-increasing use of technology
Nowadays we live
in the developed society where it is impossible to imagine everyday life
without modern technologies. Simple casual things, such as writing a letter,
shopping, paying bills, and making appointments sometimes seem to be difficult
to carry out without computer technology, especially to people who are used to
do these things online. New technologies were invented to make the life easier
but we couldn`t have thought that use of computer technology may have the dire
consequences. Ever-increasing
use of technology has many advantages for our humanity, but it also can have a bad influence on the future generation.
First of all,
the evolution of technology is beneficial to humans for some reasons. From the
medical point of view, modern technologies can help to treat more people and
consequently save many lives. Within the help of the technology it is more
likely to find the cure for cancer and for other fatal diseases. Secondly, in
the modern industrial world, machines carry out most of the agricultural and
industrial work and as a result, workers produce much more goods than a century
ago and work less at the same time.
On the other
hand, the evolution of modern technology has disadvantages. For example, people
depend on new technology. Man no longer needs to think. Even within the
calculator man no longer works his memory. In some areas devices replace human
brain and their productivity is higher. The problem is that people become lazy
because there is no need to think much if the machine can do all the work for
you.
Moreover, the
use of technology certainly needs new rules. Internet use is an individual
freedom. However, the invention of the atomic bomb cannot be an individual
freedom. In fact, regulations are difficult to implement when these
technologies are introduced – such as regulation surrounding the impending
arrival of autonomous machines.
Finally, as most
technological inventions aim to reduce human effort, it would imply that more
work is done by machines. This equates to less work for people: the human is
becoming so obsolete by the day, as processes become automated and jobs are
made redundant.

Hello Nastya,
ОтветитьУдалитьThanks for sharing your essay draft.
You 've managed to single out a number of important points associated with the impact of technology on people' s lives and supported your arguments with examples that make it rather convincing.
I've asked a couple of your peers in my comments to share some tips and advice with your other peers that can help them to write their works better and maybe with fewer difficulties. Can you think of your pieces of advice. I'm sure they can help them.
