Film Review
Green Book Recently I have watched the film “Green Book” which made me experience mixed emotions. The story takes place in 1962 in United States. The main character is Tony Vallelonga, a white Italian bouncer who takes a temporary job driving black pianist Dr. Don Shirle. They travel throughout the Midwest and the Deep South on a concert tour. The film's title refers to a guide book which is a directory of restaurants and accommodations that serves to colored people and makes their travel safe. Despite being different Tony, as the vulgar, working-class, and the well-educated, intelligent Dr. Shirley get to know each other on the road. They challenge stereotypes about colored people together and change their opinion about each other. The film demonstrates a miserable picture of white people and their superiority over people of other races in that time and gives good food for thoughts about discrimination by various attributes nowadays.
